What a busy year it has been for our chapter! I wanted to take this opportunity to review all the wonderful things that have taken place and that are still to come. This quarters’ issue is all about Capture. The need to gather information and build a solution or theme is something integral to every team. In my position with the board, I have had the opportunity to step out of my Proposal Manager role and actually do more Capture-like activities. Attending Leader Workshops and meeting with other Chapter Leaders all over the world has allowed me to learn about what others in the organization are doing, review and analyze their inputs, and build a “vision” for our board and chapter based on my findings. This strategizing is important for any business or organization and sets the tone for success (or lack thereof) for the year to come.
A great way to learn even more about the important roles Capture Professionals play is to attend our annual Capture Breakfast. At this event, you are able to network with Capture and Business Development professionals from a wide variety of companies and learn what others in the industry are doing to help their businesses succeed. We are very excited to welcome our new board members to the team and look forward to seeing their creativity and fresh ideas. Members can expect our usual awesome events and various programs and offerings to support them in the year to come as well as some new and exciting things! Many of you have heard about how we have made migrations and streamlined processes in the chapter this year. By implementing these changes, we have saved an enormous amount of time and especially money. This means that we will be able to pass those savings along to you, the members, and have more offerings for you and lower costs. You can expect to see a new and improved Member Appreciation Event, Social Gatherings, Webinars, and other educational opportunities that are either free or low-cost.
A new free members-only feature we will be rolling out is the APMP-NCA Job Board! This tool will allow you to view jobs in our area that pertain only to proposal and business development professionals, and you will have the ability to submit your information to the employer right from the job posting! If you are a company that is looking to recruit for positions, there are a number of options that you can select from to create a posting on the site. Even better, if you are already one of our Corporate Partners, this is part of your new perks for 2019! How awesome is that? We are so happy to be able to offer you this ability to connect and help you grow in your career/business.
Many of you know about our exclusive Mentor-Protege Program with APMP-NCA. If not, our chapter offers a FREE program to members in good standing where they can apply to be either a mentor or a protege based on their interests, needs, and skill levels. While this program has been unique to our chapter, it hasn’t gotten a makeover in a long time! We are pleased to announce the NEW and IMPROVED Mentor-Protege Program that will be implemented in 2019! The new application will allow for better pairing of partners and a flexible curriculum that participants can follow to help them achieve their goals more easily and to not become stagnant in their program. Lastly, we will provide more learning opportunities in the form of webinars, speakers, and other events to help enrich you along the way. Participating has never been easier with more functions and events being held virtually, and the value that this will bring to our members is increased dramatically!
