Professional Day Transitions into the New Mid-Atlantic Proposal Conference & Expo |
Professional Day is now called the Mid-Atlantic Proposal Conference & Expo, and plans are underway to give you a whole new education and networking experience on October 12, 2010!
First of all we have selected a new venue—the Fairview Park Marriott—familiar to those who attend our Roundtable programs. The Marriott will give you more space for networking and visiting with our Corporate Partners at the expo. Since we had to turn away would be registrants in previous years, we will now have space for as many as 400 people.
Secondly, the program will feature four tracks instead of one, and some amazing speakers. The conference theme, “Connecting the Dots,” will help you understand how all elements of government contracts interact to create winning bids. Participants can attend one of four simultaneous presentations during each time slot—which was designed to ensure that you get the most out of your day!
You can look forward to the following four tracks, which include some great topics
- Master’s Track: Topics and presentations will be are geared toward a senior audience with many years of experience. Topics will address advanced and innovative content, as well as current industry trends and best practices. The presentation topics in this track will include:
- Using social media to differentiate your company as a thought leader
- Using infrastructure and processes to connect the dots between capture and proposal teams
- How to use targeted research to help improve your capture results
- Best Practices in the Business Development Lifecycle: This track will cover topic spanning the BD lifecycle, from capture management to proposal development to orals. Potential topics include:

- How to Conduct Competitive Assessments
- Getting Connected: Rapid Team Development through Communications
- Taming the Past Performance Repository Beast—Lessons Learned on a Budget
- Small Business Concerns: Topics will address challenges and concerns faced by small businesses, non-profit companies, and other socio-economic status corporations selling to the Federal Government. Potential topics include:
- Legal Elements of Set Aside Contracts
- Succeeding in the Federal Government Market as Effectively as the Big Guys—Starting Now
- Panel Discussion: Augmenting Your Small Staff with Contract Employees and Consultants
- Government Panel Discussion: Leveraging Your Small Business Status with the Government
- Legal and Governance Trends in Small Businesses
- Financial and Pricing: Topics will cover concerns with developing the price/cost volume and manage the financial aspects of a contract. Potential topics include:
